Knoebels Amusement Park

While a bit of a drive (about an hour from Oakwood on Penns Creek) Knoebels is hands-down the nation’s top vintage amusement park. Hailed as America’s largest FREE amusement park, Knoebles charges no parking or attendance and requires only that you pay by the ride.

This is the classic pre-war park, shaded, festive with monstrous wood roller coasters, and fare that has been named best amusement park food for many years running. Costs for rides and food are remarkably modest. And evening and early season prices can’t be beat. I would like to say Knoebles was our kids favorite day excursion from Oakwood on Penns Creek when they were little. But the truth is, they still love going there.
