Kayak Penns Creek

It’s safe and leisurely most of the year. But don’t tempt Penns Creek when the river is high or flowing quickly. Penns Creek offers great kayaking in the warm weather months and longer if you have a wet suit and skirt. We make available four touring kayaks and life vests stashed under the cabin. They are yours to enjoy on Thomas Pool directly in front of Oakwood on Penns Creek. We ask that you keep them on property and don’t venture beyond the pool with them, and return them to the basement before you leave. Lifejackets, even in front of the cabin are required.  

For those with kayaking experience, we recommend you bring your own boats and put in upstream. Around Weikert or Cherry Run. Be forewarned. There are a couple of perilous rapids and drops.
